Apartment Ministry Program (AMP)

Through after-school kids clubs, adult bible study programs, parenting classes, financial and computer training classes, family counseling, as well as ESL and citizenship classes providing immigrant training, UOI programs improve low-income apartment complex quality of living.  UOI also administers the City of Houston Summer Lunch Program in our apartment complexes.  In addition, the program sponsors a soccer camp each summer with over 100 youth participating. These ministries are primarily located in the greater Houston communities of Spring Branch, Aldine, and Alief as well as the Heights and the Near North Side.

UOI collaborates with many other organizations to make sure that the wide variety of individual needs are met whether it be for food and clothing to family counseling.

The AMP is an outreach ministry of several local churches and institutions.

UOI expects to double the number of apartment projects it serves in the next few.

Hundreds of families are served each month through a wide range of services that include children's clubs, youth activities, Bible study for adults and children, tutoring and mentoring, job training skills, ESL and computer courses, family recreation, immigration help, and financial counseling, often collaborating with local church groups and other community organizations.
